Aunt Barbara took the Spring Lake Adventure Club on a field trip to visit our mentor, Viviana, at her very professional day job. We’re used to seeing Vivi knee-deep in muck, so this was an eye-opening experience. The SLAC-kers came back to Spring Lake with stories of shopping stores and restaurants in the lobby of the office building—”It’s so cool! You could actually LIVE there!”

Viviana is directly influencing the club’s understanding of nature and all its creatures. She’s opening doors of knowledge and exposing these kiddos to amazing people and incredible experiences. It’s good that the girls got a chance to see her in a work environment that’s so different from how they usually see her. Especially after they learned that her day job is what funds most of her best conservation work.
