October 8, 2017: Meeting

The girls found two teeny tiny musk turtles. They’re also known as stink pots, which is funny since they didn’t smell at all.

So tiny! The girls only kept the pair of turtles for a short time before releasing them back into the lake.

We had a productive meeting, even though our only real topic of conversation was an upcoming Tea Party. One SLAC-ker will organize it and will delegate the work to other club members. It’s a task that sounds simple on the surface but requires a lot of planning and management skills. We want to start small, and build on what we learn from this little get-together to create larger events. Club Members will take turns organizing events.

The minutes from this meeting prove the diverse range of interests of these girls. We examined a snake skin and learned how to tell if the snake that shed it was venemous or not (non-venemous, whew!) and then we practiced putting our pinkies out in official tea party fashion.
