SLAC-kers have a variety of interests. Sure, our scaly and shelled friends tend to get the most attention from us, but members of the Spring Lake Adventure Club know their way around the kitchen too, and neighbors are often the lucky recipients of their culinary skills.
For National Pi Day, they walked from house to house delivering homemade key lime pie.
Two club members were tied up with cards and signs for a broken leg and weighing turtles from the Trinity River, so the bulk of Pi Day responsibility fell on the shoulders of one very capable SLAC-ker. This kiddo made everything – the crust, the custard, the homemade whipped cream. She even zested the limes. Her pies were 100% scratch and exceptionally delicious.
Everyone helped deliver.
Neighbors are eagerly marking off the days on their calendars until March 14, 2019.
Side note: Does it look as if the pie box is glowing? That’s not an optical illusion—the pies were luminous.
